In this Trustees week, it is important to recognise those people who give of their time and knowledge. One such person was Sue Knowles who has been a trustee of Community Matters Yorkshire almost from the beginning. Sue was a terrific support to all of the team at Community Matters providing solid advice and guidance as well as that important role of a sounding board when needed. Sue always considered that she had no skills to bring to a Trustee Board she was not an expert in the delivery of our services but what she bought to the role was an enquiring mind and a willingness to learn as well as an ability to constructively challenge staff to ensure we were the best we could be.
So with this in mind, it was a great shock and a lot of sadness that we learnt this morning that she had passed away yesterday. She will leave a hole in many people’s lives but they have all been enriched for the fun and love of life that she bought to everybody who knew her.
