About Us
Community Matters Yorkshire has a long tradition of providing support for organisations and social enterprises. Our Business Support team has a wide range of experience, having delivered similar services for a national charity and Leeds City Council.
Welcome to Community Matters
We are here to offer guidance, support, and advice to not for profit organisations across the UK, including community groups, voluntary organisations, childcare providers, charities, and social enterprises.
Our aim is to provide a sustainable and effective hub of learning, support, and knowledge enabling local communities and voluntary organisations to grow and achieve through the provision of high-quality advice, information, learning and training opportunities accessible to all.
We know that it can sometimes be overwhelming when it comes to setting up a non-profit organisation or keeping on top of the latest requirements and opportunities available to the voluntary and community sector.
Our Services
We have a team of experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly staff and volunteers who are here to help.
We have lots of free resources, learning opportunities and guides available on our site, and a calendar of training events throughout the year.
We also have a subscription programme which includes access to useful templates and help sheets, our funding database and ongoing email and phone support.
If there is something you’re not sure if we can help with, please do get in touch and we will try our best to help signpost you to someone who can.
Our Project Work
Alongside our advisory and support service, we also work closely with families, children and young people through projects aimed at helping create happy and healthy communities.
We enjoy working in collaboration with other agencies and are open to discussing potential partnership opportunities that help support the voluntary and community sector.

Our History
We launched in 2010 as Community Matters Yorkshire offering support to families and childcare providers across the Yorkshire district.
We have grown and developed our services over the years and are proud to offer a central hub of expert advice and guidance to the community and voluntary sector nationally.

We help people and organisations to develop their skills and knowledge to solve issues within their communities.
Client-Focused
Our priorities are determined by the real needs of the people we serve.
Collaborative
We work with anyone who shares our vision or helps make change happen for communities and the people within them.
