Wellbeing Champions

Recruiting volunteers who will receive training about how to provide simple health messages to communities Leeds.

Healthy cooking session

This is a three-year project funded by the Big Lottery. The project will recruit volunteers who will receive training about how to provide simple health messages to communities in East Leeds. In addition, the project will deliver a wide range of activities for local community members.

Wellbeing Champions undertake an accredited training program to help them understand what wellbeing is and to equip them to support the delivery of sessions in the community.

The Champions will support the delivery of wellbeing sessions to people in groups within the community. They will help people switch to healthier lifestyles (such as healthy eating, increasing physical activity or stopping smoking) by motivating them, enabling them to develop plans to achieve this, signposting them to other resources and supporting them while they make lifestyle changes. The Champions will lead regular support sessions, educating people in a wide range of health and wellbeing messages.
